Irrfan Khan who was away from silver screens for his cancer treatment is back to work now.
The actor has recently started shooting for his upcoming film Angrezi Medium.
Lately, producer Dinesh Vijan unveils that it was an emotional moment for everybody when Irrfan Khan gave his initial shot.
He said, “Irrfan is undoubtedly one of the best actors in the country. When he gave his first shot everyone around got emotional. For me it was one of those life-defining moments working with him again after Hindi Medium. Having him and Homi together was something all three of us have always wanted.”
When asked Dinesh if Irrfan got emotional too, he says, “No Irrfan was his usual self. Wry humour, crackling one-liners and back on his own turf. Deepak and his improvisations brought the house down. It was like the first day of Hindi Medium.”
While Irrfan Khan played a Delhi based businessman with a sari showroom in Hindi Medium, he plays Champak from Udaipur, mithai shop owned, in the sequel. Deepak Dobriyal plays his brother in the film. The brothers have inherited a 100-year-old sweet business and are also rivals. A distant cousin, Manu Rishi who owns the biggest sweet shop in Udaipur, also adds to the rivalry within the family. Dinesh further adds, “The first scene we shot was with both Irrfan and Deepak trying to woo a foreign tourist in their toota phtoota English. It was a riot.”
The film will stars Radhika Madan as Irrfan Khan’s daughter. There is another leading lady in the film with whom the talks are still on.
The crew will be shooting in Rajasthan till April end, after which they move to London as in the film Irrfan’s daughter has aspirations of studying abroad.
Angrezi Medium is the sequel to Irrfan’s 2017 hit film Hindi Medium, that featured Saba Qamar in the role of Irrfan’s wife.
